Setting up the dashboard is very simple. However, there are some steps you need to do prior to setting up the dashboard.
1. You must sign up for a free Google Analytics account-
http://www.google.com/analytics/sign_up.html
2. You must also signup for a free Google maps API key-
http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.com.html
Once you have signed up to Google Analytics and successfully setup your domain / website to be tracked take note of our Google Analytics Urchen Number This number will look similiar to the example below:
You will also need to keep your username and password for Google Analytics handy.
Lastly you will need to find your Profile ID numbre. The easiest way to do this is following the steps below:
1. Login to Google Analytics if yo uhave not done so already.
2. From the Account Overview screen click on your domian that you are tracking. If you are not on the Account Overview screen then click on the Google Analytics Logo and it should take you there.
3. You should see your domain name and your Urchen Number on this screen. Now click on the Edit link at the far right of your domain name. You shouls now be on your profile settings page in which you should see your profile ID.
There is a file_bxVars.cfm of the root of your site. More about this file can be found at bluApple Variables. For now what you need to do is open this file for editing.
With this information you have gathered enter it in the above variables. Save and upload the document.
